Shinnenkai 2026

On 1 March 2026 (Sunday), we were delighted to welcome more than 120 JUGAS members and esteemed guests to Sofitel Singapore City Centre for our annual Shinnenkai. We ushered in the Year of the Horse with members reconnecting and expressing our gratitude to our valued guests.

The event was graced by His Excellency Mr Hiroshi Ishikawa and Mrs Ishikawa, as well as representatives of the Japanese community in Singapore, principals and teachers from various Japanese schools, and senior business leaders. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support of our activities.

Highlights of the Evening

The opening addresses by His Excellency Ishikawa and JUGAS President Shen Yue affirmed that amid divisions and conflicts around the world, it is all the more imperative and meaningful for Singapore and Japan to remain closely connected and work together.

JUGAS EXCO members Austin and Leeyon served as emcees for the evening, bringing humour and energy to the programme with their witty bilingual facilitation. Back by popular demand, we also brought back “Nazotoki” (mystery-solving) and the Trivia Quiz segments. Japanese City Pop duo R.E.D once again charmed the audience with their captivating live music and vocals.
